1. Overview & Data Controller
Accydoo (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a football prediction platform that allows users to create leagues, predict football match scores, and compete with friends.
For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, the Data Controller is:

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
We collect:
- Email address
- Username / nickname
- Profile photo (optional)
- Password (encrypted)
2.2 Profile Information
Users may optionally provide:
- Display name
- Team preferences
- Avatar image
2.3 League Data
We store:
- League memberships
- League roles (e.g. captain/member)
- League settings (name, rules, licence tier)
- Invite codes and join history
2.4 Predictions Data
We collect:
- Match predictions (home and away scores)
- Submission timestamps
- Scoring results (points awarded)
2.5 Usage Data
We may collect:
- App activity (logins, navigation)
- Device type and operating system
- Crash logs and performance data
2.6 Purchase Data
For League Sponsor leagues, we process purchases via Apple App Store and Google Play.
We do NOT store payment card details. We only receive:
- Purchase confirmation receipts
- Product ID
- Transaction status
2.7 Notifications
We may send push notifications for prediction deadlines, match results, league updates, and leaderboard changes. You can disable notifications in your device settings.
3. Lawful Bases for Processing Data
Under the UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal grounds to process your personal data:
- Contractual Necessity: To create your account, run your leagues, process league licenses, and calculate your scores.
- Legitimate Interests: To improve app performance, analyse usage trends, and secure our systems.
- Consent: For sending you non-essential push notifications or marketing communications (which you can withdraw at any time).
4. Accy Pot Disclaimer
Accydoo provides an optional feature called the “Accy Pot”, which displays an agreed prize amount between players.
IMPORTANT:
- Accydoo does NOT collect, hold, or distribute any money between users.
- All Accy Pot contributions or prize arrangements are handled privately between players outside the app.
- The Accy Pot is purely informational.
5. Data Sharing & International Transfers
We do not sell personal data. We only share data with necessary third-party services:
- Supabase (backend infrastructure and authentication)
- Apple App Store / Google Play (for payment validation)
- Football data providers (for fixtures and results)
- Notification services (for push notifications)
Some of these providers may store or process data outside of the UK. We ensure these transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions required under UK data law.
6. Data Retention
We retain data for as long as your account is active or as long as you are part of at least one league. If your account remains inactive for [Insert timeline, e.g., 24 months], we will automatically anonymise or delete your data. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
7. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have significant rights regarding your data:
- Right of Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You can update your profile or ask us to correct mistakes.
- Right to Erasure: You can request that we delete your account and personal data.
- Right to Restriction: You can ask us to temporarily stop processing your data.
- Right to Data Portability: You can request a digital copy of your data to move to another service.
- Right to Object: You can object to us processing your data based on legitimate interests.

We use industry-standard encryption, secure servers via Supabase, and robust authentication systems to protect your data from unauthorised access.
